Our Story
At PhotosSorted, we understand that your photo memories are priceless because we have been there ourselves. We are Gail and Terry, a husband-and-wife team, who possess the skills and expertise to handle your photos with the utmost care and efficiency. Gail's experience in nursing and retail management shows in her organising and attention to detail whilst Terry has spent more than 21 years in the IT industry.
When we inherited our parents' chaotic photo collection, we found it in poor condition, with some photos damaged and pages falling out of albums. We needed to save our family memories for our future legacy. We wanted our children to know their past.
Around this time we could see the disastrous effects of Australia’s bushfires and floods on families and realised the importance of backing up our memories. To keep them safe. We set about digitising our photos and albums.
Our Expertise
Although I had IT skills, I found that photos were personal and this meant gaining new skills. Understanding a person’s needs and their stories was going to be important. To do this correctly I needed to learn how to effectively organise my photos. There were over 5,000 photos and I only wanted to do this once.
We joined The Photo Managers, a Photo Organiser Service that provides support and industry guidelines for photo organising. We completed comprehensive training and certification courses to upskill and learn how to care for my photo collection. Completing certification ensures that I work to industry standards so you can be sure of a quality service. Training is ongoing as our modern lifestyle and technology changes.
We invested in equipment and processes to provide high-quality scanning and organisational efficiency. This ensures that we can provide a high level of service in our business.
Along the way, we discovered the joy of curating our past allowing us to share it with our family and friends. I now understand the importance of preserving the stories behind our photos.
